チン族の少年たち at the orphanage in Myanmar

The boy touches the roll piano for the first time.
He said that he'd like to become a pianist.

ミャンマーのヤンゴン市郊外の暮らし life in suburb of Yangon

Dec 2013

雨に濡れた路上で on the road of Rangoon

further news about the big fire in Namsan, northern Shan state,Myanmar

etc.

The speech of Stefani Renato Prize

Ladies and Gentlemen

Today is the Stefani Renato prize award ceremony.
I’m Dr.Tin San Oo, came from Burma. I’m a little bit excited because
I’ve just seen Samurai.
I’ve been awarded Stefani Renato prize for this year.
Thanks Yasuhiro Koike, chair person and executive committee.
Now I’m genuinely motivated by this prize to live for the weak, the poor, and the needy people.

I must say so sorry because my Japanese friend said
that the Italian priest, Stefani Renato died of road traffic accident in East Timor.

I’d like to correlate Stefani Renato foundation and the current world order.
We, human race, have lost so many lives because of wars, diseases, and natural disasters.
It has been terrible waste of human lives.
That’s why we must try to save the people who do desperately want to live in spite of extreme poverty and famine.

In conclusion, I hereby emphasize the principle said by and an anonymous intellectual is that
“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”
It means that only the people live for others, especially the weak, the poor and the needy people are the happiest ones in the world.

‘Arigatou Gozaimasu’.

えー! tangled electric wires in Yangon

ハスの花 一輪 a flower of a lotus

(e-mail from Burma)

Hello,

How about you?I hope all of you are in good health.

The women of Japan football team  won in " FIFA woman"s world cup" and awarded the prize.

I am so proud and happy for that.

I think you have power that we can't see.

So I hope that you will overcome all of the difficulties that you face now in your country.

Now how about your country?

Please take care in everything.

                                          M M M

Peyaji Village ,Namsan Burma

Farmers pick up tea leaves all day

and get 2500 kyats(about 3 dollars) per day.

Even small Paraung kids go to steep mountains

and pick up tea leaves.

Namsan is located over 5000 feet above the sea level.

It's cool in the morning and the night.

So left kid wear a wool cap.

a Paraung kid puts Tanaka on his face.

Tanaka is a common person's name in Japan.

I think Myanmar language and Japanese language have a same root.

Young ladies pay respect to the old lady.

In Burma, a spirit of respect for old age is highly developed.

I've never seen young ladies pay respect to old people like this in Japan recently.

Now I'm thinking of moving to Burma.

Kids in Namsan

They are looking for the place where they live on the map.
Unfortunately, no kids could point out their village on the map.

Paraung kids are really interested in the map.

a letter to Burma

Dear all my Burmese friends

Thank you very much for your concern over the unprecedented disaster in Japan
as if it were yours.
The number of tourists have declined sharply at our hometown.
Financial problems become bigger and bigger recently.

I went to one of the devastated area Onagawa town in the end of May.
Our team served meals for about 200 evacuees two times.
The town of Onagawa lost 20percent of its population and
80percent of its houses were completely destroyed.
Now no business is on the run in Onagawa town.
Up to now, Onagawa town smells very badly and you can see
flies everywhere in the town.
Onagawa is just like a ghost town and so weird.
Survivors including kids are trying their best to rebuild their lives now.

The situation of Japan and Burma are harsh and it's still take some more time
to get back to normal.
But I do believe that the day which the buds are out
and many leaves grow thicker will come soon!

 25 Jun 2011                                              sincerely yours H H
