粉炭を売る姉妹　 暑い日、妹は裸足だった。

sisters are selling powder charcoal

３階の部屋のおばさんが、スリッパを落としてくれた

妹が、それを履いた。

 こちらへやってきて、炭をおろした。ドクターが、自分のマグカップで水をあげた。

二人が、水を分けて飲んだ。

they came to us and a gentle Dr. gave them a cup of water with his mug.

they shared a cup of water.

 姉が、妹の頭の上に小さいほうの粉炭の袋をのせてあげた。

the elder sister helped the younger sister carrying the powder charcoal.

ウテンが、少しお金をあげると二人は、去っていった。

私は、ドクターとウテンの優しさをうれしいと思った。

後姿を見ながら、何もしなかった自分を恥じた。
